5.    FIELD PROJECT

Marks: Project Report – 40                Viva Voce – 10                                       Total – 50

Selection of Field Project topic should be based on the areas in the mandatory or elective courses in the concerned subject. Out of theses some of following areas may be considered for potential topics of field project: • Language Teaching and Learning: Visit nearby schools and study challenges faced by Indian learners of English (e.g., pronunciation, grammar, or vocabulary) or analyse effectiveness of language teaching methods in Indian classrooms • Language attitudes towards English and regional languages: Investigate language preferences and attitudes among Indian students or professionals. • Literary Adaptation Study: Visit a local theatre or film screening and analyse how a novel's themes or characters are adapted for stage or screen. • Regional Authors: Research the life and works of a local author, visiting libraries or historical sites relevant to their writing.  • Local Storytelling: Record and transcribe local folklore, myths, or personal narratives from elders, analysing themes and dialect.  • Reading Culture Survey: Survey students or community members about their reading habits and the factors influencing them.   • Code-Switching Study: Observe and document how bilingual speakers switch between English and their native language in natural settings.  • Public Speaking Analysis: Attend a local debate or speech event and analyse speakers' use of rhetoric, voice, and body language

Submission of Field Project Report duly signed and certified by concerned teacher/guide is A PRE-REQUISITE FOR APPEARING TO VIVA-VOCE EXAMINATION.

TWO COPIES of Field Project Report in BOUND FORMAT should be submitted before Viva-Voce. One copy will be kept by department and the remaining will be returned to student
