Task II: Complete the following sentences choosing appropriate words from the pair given in the brackets:

Task III: Identify the type of the underlined phrases in the following sentences:

Task IV: Correct the following sentence by using the right tense forms:

Task V: Change the voice of the following sentences:

1. Anita sings a song. (A song is sung by Anita.)

2. Mohammed has carved a beautiful sculpture. (A beautiful sculpture has been carved by Mohammed.)

3. Ashwini was playing the flute. (The flute was being played by Ashwini.)

4. They will be sowing the seeds. (The seeds will be being sown by them.)

5. Anisa had written the letters. (The letters had been written by Anisa.)

6. Call the police. (Let the police be called.)

7. Don’t wipe the rangoli. (You are requested not to wipe the rangoli.)

Task VI: Transform the following sentences into exclamatory sentences.

1. It is a horrible night. (What a horrible night it is!)

2. It is very stupid of me to forget your name. (How stupid it is of me to forget your name!)

3. You are very cold. (How cold you are!)

4. He leads a very unhappy life. (How unhappy life he leads!)

5. These mangoes have very delicious flavour. (How delicious flavour these mangoes have!)

Task VII: Correct the following sentences.

1. Asmita is as cleverer as Neeta. (Asmita is as clever as Neeta.)

2. Jack was a most handsome boy in the class. (Jack was the most handsome boy in the class.)

3. India is more powerful country as any other country. (India is more powerful country than any other country.)

4. Students are more cutest when enjoying with friends. (Students are the cutest when enjoying with friends.)

Task IX: Rewrite the following sentences by using proper coordinating or subordinating conjunctions.

1. Mother is working in kitchen. Father is working in the farm. (Mother is working in the kitchen and father is working in the farm.)

2. She always comes. Her teacher enters the class. (She always comes when her teacher enters the class.)

3. They could go home. They could continue their work. (They could either go home or could continue their work.)

4. Ashutosh was the winner. He couldn’t attend the function. (Ashutosh was the winner however, he couldn’t attend the function.)
